Payroll Multi-State Employers
Payroll multi-state employers :
Does your company have operations and employees across several states? Or do you have employees who live in one state and work in another? If so, there are complex payroll issues to consider when doing payroll as multi-state employers.
The more geographically diverse a company’s workforce is, the more complex the payroll. Tax withholding requirements are different from state to state, and, in some instances, from municipality to municipality. Some neighboring states have reciprocity agreements with each other for income taxes, but that isn’t always the case.
Additionally, some states have ended such agreements in the last few years as they try to ensure they’ll get their fair share of the tax pie. Making errors in multi-state payroll and withholding can be expensive, resulting in penalties and interest in addition to unpaid taxes.
Contact Vision HR. We can help you unravel the complexity of multi-state withholding, payroll taxes, and payroll processing in those states.
