Don’t let your Employees get Burnt Out
Don’t let your Employees get Burnt Out
A company has to stay strong and manage it’s employees with competence and understanding, regardless of what time of year it is. During the winter it can be comfortable inside the climate controlled building. For the Summer months however, employees can get anxious for a taste of the white sands of the Daytona Beach area. In an area filled with a large variety of businesses that cater to both tourist and the local populace, the proper use of employee management can be vital in keeping business coming back year after year. From top notch restaurants and retail outlets to companies dedicated to helping others to make the most of their business, the idea is the same. A content employee is a productive employee.
It is important to take this into consideration when you schedule employees and develop the atmosphere of the workplace. Good personnel management is key to a productive workplace, and little things can mean the world to some employees. Consider some of these easy and inexpensive ideas to boost morale and increase productivity.
Themed Fridays: Let the employees lose the shirt and tie for a day and wear their favorite floral shirt. Make the office feel a little more warm and welcoming, while still placing guidelines to maintain that professional atmosphere.
Relaxed Dress Code: Look is important, and every day can’t be Hawaiian shirt day, but everyday can be a little more relaxing with a relaxed dress code. Let employees wear the button-up shirt, but leave the tie at home. Allow professional clothing that will allow airflow and allow the employee to be comfortable.
Flexible Work Schedules: Employee Management is not always about keeping employees working constantly, sometimes it is about giving a little freedom to the schedule so employees can enjoy a day at the beach with their families, or a barbeque in the backyard with the neighbors. Production can not be stopped for these leisures but a little give and take can benefit the company as a whole.
Company Picnics: Employees are not the only ones that enjoy a little fun in the sun. Managers and the higher ups want to get out too. A company picnic is a great way to bring employees together with their managers, and provide a sense of community in the work place. Have employees bring their own dishes to cut back on cost, and use a public location to avoid the costly expense of renting room or space from another company for a day. Include some fun games for employee’s children, such as a race, or maybe even a friendly softball game. Morale is an important part of employee management. The entire group benefits, and with these simple ideas, everyone from the office worker to payroll and even the business owner will enjoy their summertime both in and out of the work place.
